support from a therapist of your generation

Online therapy for Gen X women

Do you feel like you get pressure from every direction and there’s no time for what you need and want?

I support and validate women of all ages and stages, and as a Gen X woman, I want to highlight some of the struggles of our generation.

You’ve been figuring things out on your own for years and now you’re expected to solve everyone’s problems.

Work stress, kid stress, parent stress, relationships changes, insomnia, and life disappointments. You figured out puberty on your own and now you’re figuring out menopause. You’re still a long way from retirement and feel so tired.

We tend to be so hard on ourselves, taking care of everyone else and focusing on the needs of others before our own. You’ve heard the cliche of putting on your own oxygen mask before helping others, but there is so much to do and you are in so deep you don’t know how to do it differently.

Perhaps…

  • You are where you thought you wanted to be in life but it doesn’t feel quite right.

  • You got off track somewhere along the way

  • All you knew is that you wanted a life different than how you grew up and this doesn't feel right either

  • You set the bar too low

Let’s get clear on some things that you do want now and how to get there.

You’re ready to figure out what’s next and how to get there.

How therapy works

You can learn how to get to a life you want or feel better in the life that you have.

I can help you identify what matters most to you, what you want to be doing differently, and what is getting in the way. There are skills and resources that create resilience and allow us to be able to care for ourselves and others.

Let’s get real about self care and set realistic expectations without the cliches or toxic positivity. It’s okay to feel all of the vibes — even ones that aren’t so good. Life is hard but it doesn’t have to be this hard. We will identify your strengths, build on them, and learn new skills.

We hear that being selfless and strong are the highest compliments for a woman, but it’s okay to give yourself a break from that and take care of yourself while also showing up in all of the areas of your life.

All of this can feel even more difficult for those who identify as introverts, empaths, and highly sensitive persons (HSPs). I see you and I am here to support you.

As a member of The Menopause Society, I am committed to continuing education in the areas of premenopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause to help you understand what's happening in your body.
