Affirming support to be your best authentic self.

Online therapy for LGBTQ+ folx

Have you been hesitant to go to therapy because you aren’t sure if a counselor will be safe?

Whether you’ve been out and proud for years or you are questioning or just starting to understand your gender identity or sexual orientation, I am here to support, celebrate, and affirm you. I practice strong advocacy and allyship backed by many years of training and experience personally and professionally.

Sexual orientation and gender identity are not clinical issues, and if your orientation is not part of your presenting concern, then we won’t make it a concern in therapy.

If you are not being affirmed, I am here to support you as you make sense of what is happening in your world and make decisions about how you want to live your best life aligned with what matters most to you. If you are affirmed in your life but want to work with a therapist with whom you can be open and feel safe, I’m here for that too.

I believe:

  • There is a difference between depression and oppression (i.e. if you’ve been treated badly, it makes sense that you have felt angry, sad, or anxious).

  • You are not the discrimination, oppression, trauma, or pain that you may have experienced.

  • You are worthy of love and affirmation exactly as you are.

  • Therapy is for you to address what matters to you.

 You’re ready to thrive.

How therapy works

You can learn to cope with whatever struggles you encounter.

Supportive therapy is to help you address whatever concerns you have. This is your space to explore, get support, and learn skills that will be helpful to cope with stressors.

I can help you identify what matters most to you, what concerns you want to address, and what is getting in the way of you feeling peaceful, content, or fulfilled. There are skills and resources that create resilience and help us cope with whatever difficulties we experience.

I am also available if you want support in being affirming to a loved one who has come out to you.
